Iyengar Yoga teachers are passionate about their precise and disciplined method and it was these things that drew Hayley to Iyengar Yoga.

Iyengar Yoga has an emphasis on physical asana (the yoga poses) and this leads naturally to an exploration of the breath in pranayama. (Focus on the breath).

Hayley’s classes are invigorating and interesting with different poses explored one after the other in a sequence. Through the physical work, the student is drawn into themselves and bit by bit links their mind and breath together with the body. It leads to the student feel connected with themselves; feeling calm, and having a renewed store of energy. It’s a great resource or source of strength in these COVID times of change.

Hayley believes in Yoga For All and everyone is welcome at her classes. Complete beginners can attend and begin their study, together with intermediate students. Please turn up and you will be looked after.

Hayley has studied under one of NZ’s leading Iyengar teachers – Monica Haar for over 20 years. She attends workshops with international teachers and attends regular training for yoga teachers.

She feels very lucky to have had yoga in her life and became a teacher to be able to share with others and to help them develop a regular, beneficial practice.

Hayley also studies health and fitness and is currently working on Fitness Professional exams run the New Zealand Institute of Health and Sports and the (US) National Academy of Sports and Medicine Training.

I appreciate the way Hayley is able to tailor and adapt her session to the needs of each individual in her class. She takes the time to assess individual ability and capacity, then gives instructions or guidance accordingly. She talks calmly through each pose, offering a range of options in terms of how we can adjust either our position or our props to get the most out of the practice. You will feel like you are in safe hands while getting the most out of your time.
Cheers,
Mei
